Salud, Kids!
Let me tell you that Cunard is not so much about free-style cruising and that is fine because we were assigned to a dining table with these super-cool kids. If we were skipping around on our own, we never would have met Alfonso, Lucia; Mo and Brian. Here we sit, being formal for the photog. It WAS formal night, okay? This snap was a sweet gift to us from Lucia and Alfonso. More to come on our new pals!!
Any reservations we had about being seated with less-than-stellar feasting friends, were squashed after the initial sculpted-ice (well, maybe it was ice cubes) was broken. Amazingly interesting were Lucia and Alfonso, long-time Florida residents (originally from Cuba). Missing the first night with us, but making up for it were fascinating Mo and Brian who hailed from Bath-now say that with a LONG a, okay?
Kids, the weekend was a wonderful whirlwind, but now I'm back clicking the keys and babbling on like a magpie about our recent bobbing and weaving all over the ocean on the Queen Victoria. I did warn you it was going to be a saga, so there you go.
Actually, today is not so much spewing pointless factoids-just a glimpse of our first port-of-call, St. Thomas. Not our first time to this Virgin Island, and was all sorts of fun, but to be honest-it could us a little pick-me-up. It is looking a bit tired.
No matter, we always make the most and zipping around St. Thomas was no exception.
We shopped, we ate...all the things one does on an island. Well, it's what we do.
